Our joinery services extend beyond fitting cabinets and worktops, we lay flooring, architraving, fit doors, windows and bespoke cabinets and staircases can be comissioned also...
Case Study One
Loadbearing wall removal and opening up of dining room into kitchen, full building and installation project.
This was a large scale project involving many procedures. We were required to remove two adjoining supporting walls and insert a 2 part bolted RSJ. A new ring main was required for the new kitchen/dining area. Radiators were re-positioned and replaced with new ones. The ceiling had to be lowered and recessed spot lights were installed.
The whole new space was plastered and the floor was levelled off then completely overboarded to accept Amtico flooring. A new kitchen was supplied and fitted, bespoke unit sizes and painted to match the client’s colour specification. Plumbed water was supplied for the American style fridge. Finally bespoke units were manufactured from laquered oak and fitted into the two recessed areas in the dining room.
For this project, we removed a stud wall. a supporting wall and bolt together a 2 part RSJ steel beam. In addition we had to remove an old chimney breast and install a damp proof membrane prior to plastering.
Next a new electrical circuit was installed along with a new fuse board. Radiators and light switches were also re-positioned.
The whole downstairs area, including the ceiling, was then boarded and plaster skimmed throughout. Coving was added to the new rooms.
The final stage was to fit a new kitchen with granite worktops
